About Courses (CAD):The primary objective of the course is to impart promising engineers with basic principles of design and their innovative application to the practical design problems. The emphasis will be on requirement study, solving & conceiving the design from concept through final stage i.e. manufacturing feasibility studies. Concepts such as axiomatic design approach to solve engineering problems will be introduced.
Trainees are also made aware of importance of Engineering fundamentals & application to concepts of design. The Live projects provide the engineers the needed hands – on experience to model mechanical components and assemblies starting from the conceptual design all the way to detailed drawings with all dimensions and tolerances specified as per the industry best practices & norms.
The course is structured into 5 topics spanning over a period of 4 weeks (140 – 160 hours). The topics are carefully designed and each of them is spread across interactive lectures, exercises and project work. The course is taught by experienced project engineers from Group of Engineers services Pvt Ltd and other Industry experts. The projects are carefully chosen to encourage the student to apply the concepts learned in each module and evolve his/her own strategies to effectively solve the problems.
Introduction to Design:
Overviews about the design process – form & Function, Engineering drawings, understanding of the basic mechanical concepts and their application for best industrial practices.
Functional Design Basics:
DIntroduction to various design fundamentals, design axioms and the architecture of modern 3D – CAD tool forms the major content.
Introduction to Technical Domain & Industry Practices:
The topic covers Design for manufacturing (DFM) best practices used in the discipline of Plastics, Casting & Sheet Metal. The course enables the student to bring their design together, provide logical constraints to visualize and stimulate their product in a virtual space. Students are also introduced to strong GD&T; principles and Manufacturing feasibility studies of their conceived Designs.

The course imparts fresh graduate engineers with a strong foundation of Engineering fundamentals, high proficiency & best practices of Finite Element Modeling and Finite Element Analysis for mechanical system design. The course focuses hands–on experience to practical engineering application using CAE tool such as HyperMesh, Ansys, Abaqus, Radioss/Nastran. The course is structured on Group of Engineers proven workshop based integrated learning approach i.e. combination of Instructor led lectures, concept reinforcing practice exercises followed by application focused projects to integrate the learning. While the carefully structured exercises help to understand and reinforce the Modeling/Analysis concepts using HyperWorks, the projects help the students to evolve effective strategies to solve practical problems, keeping in view real world time and project management constraints.

Introduction to CAE:
Introduction, Importance & Value addition of CAE, Career & Opportunities in CAE, understanding the different pages like 2-D page, 3-D page, panel, sub panel, most commonly used icons etc.
Need and importance of Geometric Clean up, and importance of each panel in Geom page with their usage. Eg. Nodes, lines surfaces, solids & Quick edit options.
Mid – Surface Extraction:
Importance of Mid – Surface, different ways of extraction (Both Manual and Automatic.
2-D Shell Modeling:
Learning to use some basic important panels like ruled, spline,drag (manual methods). AutoMesh, quality index etc. Meshing for BIW components with right mesh pattern, flow, capturing of holes, fillets. Meshing for BIW components for CAE attributes like NVH Meshing criteria, Durability criteria or crash criteria. Meshing for plastics or components with variable thickness, capturing when the midsurface fails, different techniques and best practices.
3-D Tetra Modeling:
Correct usage of tetramesh panel, creating the solid tetra model from scratch, Mesh modifications, capturing of R-Trias etc.
3-D Modeling HexMesh:
Capturing some complicated junctions with large variations. HexMeshing at component level with required quality criteria and mesh pattern.
Connectors and Model Assembly:
Importance of connectors, Most used connectors. Deck preparation for Radioss, Nastran, Abaqus etc.
Introduction to FEA (Linear Static & Normal Modes Analysis):
Boundary conditions, Load cases creation, understanding the syntax of the solver, Running a Linear static Analysis & Model Analysis.
